Abstract: Nutrition plays a critical role in athletic performance and recovery. Pre- and post-exercise nutritional strategies are essential for optimizing energy availability, enhancing performance, and facilitating recovery. This review article provides an overview of the key components and timing of pre- and post-exercise nutrition, highlighting the importance of macronutrients, hydration, and supplementation. We explore the physiological mechanisms underlying nutrient metabolism during exercise and provide practical recommendations for athletes and active individuals.
